Silly Bandz are a new craze. But what are they? Silly Bandz come from America. They’re rubber bands in different shapes and colours. You wear them on your wrist, like bracelets.
You can buy them in packs. There are Superheroes (Spider Man, Wolverine and Iron Man), music festival packs (guitars, tents and dancers), and you can even buy Justin Bieber bands!

“They are great items to collect, or trade with your friends,” says Vicki from Toledo, Ohio. Now they’ve arrived in Europe and Asia. Jo Sawkins is fashion editor at teen magazine, Sugar. “They’re fun and they’re cheap,” says Jo. “They’re going to be everywhere.”

Teenagers love them, and some adults wear them too. The actor Mary-Kate Olsen, model Agyness Deyn and fashion designer Henry Holland have got the bands.
But some schools in America don’t like Silly Bandz. “Students are trading them in class,” says one teacher. “They’re not listening to me!” But other teachers think Silly Bandz are great. They give them as prizes for good school work.
